So if you’ve been following me on Instagram you’ll know that my friend Jill and I have been hard at work starting a podcast about frugality and saving money.

You can call it Frugal Friends for short.

We’re so excited to bring you a weekly show where we’ll cover what the internet has to say about different topics pertaining to saving money, spending less, minimalism, and living life to the fullest.

Now that I’m writing full time for The Penny Hoarder I wanted to keep sharing my love for “saving with spunk” without getting burnt out behind a keyboard. The fact that I get to hang out and laugh with Jill every week and is just a perk!

Jill and I met last year when she and her husband were living and traveling full time in an RV. I was fascinated by their lifestyle and their abandonment of what traditional society says you have to do to “make a living.”

Since then Travis and I have visited them several times in Pennsylvania and on our most recent visit, Jill’s husband Eric convinced us to start a podcast.

I was totally skeptical because podcasting hadn’t even been on my radar. Even though I’m obsessed with listening to them and one of my most popular posts is about personal finance podcasts.

So we decided on a podcast about frugality. We want to help people embrace frugality, save money on the things they need, spend less on what they don’t, and lift the stigma around being frugal.

We named it Frugal Friends because when people are paying off debt and trying to spend less, its usually our friends that get in the way of that. Friends are used to going out to dinner, getting drinks and shopping as hobby, so we want to be your Frugal Friends that will help you achieve your financial goals vs tempting you to fail.

We’re doing that mainly through our Frugal Friends Facebook Group.

If you want to follow along hit one of the subscribe links above and join the group to participate!
